About Patricia Becker

In my early and mid-twenties, I never thought about eating less meat or practicing yoga. Growing up in Pittsburgh, PA, I had never even heard of a vegetarian. Most evenings were spent disco dancing, drinking, and smoking, followed by late-night meals at a pancake and steak house.

The emotional and physical stress of a divorce, along with persistent facial acne, led me to search for natural ways to improve my health and appearance. My mother gave me a small book on macrobiotics, and a friend invited me over for a meal of miso soup, rice, and vegetables. Shortly after, I had a macrobiotic consultation with Michael Rossoff, and I stumbled into my first yoga classes—which I immediately loved.

These life-changing events set me on the path of holistic wellness.

Today, I’m a certified yoga teacher and professional nutritional coach, helping others achieve their health and wellness goals. I specialize in yoga for aging, senior wellness, and nutrition for vibrant aging.

With over 35 years of practical experience and training, I’m here to help you stay vibrant, active, and healthy as you age.

In my earlier years, weekends were spent indulging in steak and eggs at 2 a.m. after a night of dancing, drinking, and smoking in Great Falls, Montana. I was overweight and unhappy with both my body and life.

By my late 20s, I faced the harsh reality that my husband was addicted to drugs, and after our divorce, I moved back to Pennsylvania. Living with my parents, I went from a well-paid job to being a part-time lunch waitress. My face broke out with severe acne, and I found myself at an all-time low, even contemplating suicide.

Then, my mother handed me a book called You Are All Sanpaku, which introduced me to macrobiotics—a way of life focused on natural health and balance through food. With no medical solutions left after months of doctor visits and pills, I turned to this holistic approach.

I devoured everything I could find on macrobiotic dietary and lifestyle guidelines, based on thousands of years of Oriental wisdom that treats food as medicine. I transformed my kitchen, filling it with whole grains, organic vegetables, sea vegetables, and the highest quality oils and condiments.

What happened was nothing short of amazing. My energy levels soared, I lost 25 pounds, and I felt more alive than ever before. Even an ankle injury I’d suffered for over 10 years healed. All of this happened as I focused solely on clearing my acne. I regained balance, calmness, and joy in my life.

Learning to find balance through food and lifestyle has been the greatest gift, and it’s what I love to share with others.

Then Came Yoga

 

Soon after, I dove deeply into yoga. The practice helped me open my body and breath in ways I never thought possible. It wasn’t long before I became a Certified Yoga Teacher, continuously pursuing advanced training to offer the best to myself, my clients, and my students.

For over 35 years, I’ve trained with leading nutrition and yoga experts, traveling to macrobiotic centers around the world—from the U.S. to Switzerland, New Zealand, and Australia. I’ve guided hundreds of students and clients on their path to wellness. Looking back, I’m grateful that my acne challenge led me to this holistic journey.
